A Healthy Living Event at “Take Time to Smell the Roses!”

Another fun giveaway event for you all to check out and this one doesn’t involve cloth diapers!  Fancy that!  Over at Take Time to Smell the Roses, Chari will have over 20 different companies that she will be reviewing and even holding some giveaways on too!  Right now she has giveaway for a Naturepedic Baby/Toddler Mattress that I seriously have my eye on.  Baby C has been sleeping on the same mattress as not just her older sister did, but also her now 20 year old cousin did!  I think it is time for an upgrade, don’t you?

So please check out her giveways during this month.  You never know, you might even win something!

Another Cloth Diaper Event!

Home Grown Families

Starting tomorrow, June 1st, and lasting through the entire month, Home Grown Families Blog will be hosting a Cover the Booty Cloth Diaper Event!  With such a cool event name, how could you pass it up?  There will not only be tons of giveaways, I am sure, but also reviews and answers to your most burning cloth diapering questions.

So if you are at all cloth curious, head on over to Home Grown Families during the month of June!

Do you like crafts? Do you like giveaways?

I know I sure do!  The lovely people from Sew Mama Sew! are motivating a bevy of crafty blogs to host giveaways on their individual blogs.  Go to the Giveaway Day website here: http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=7408 for a list of the handcrafted items blogs that are having giveaways.  There are also lists for blogs that are giving away supplies/materials and also sewing & knitting supplies and materials.

Most of the giveaways just require you to leave one comment so your odds are pretty good.  There are some really cute stuff being given away so I urge you to check out the list and start entering.  But you better to do it soon…most end by the end of this week!

Good Luck!

Happy 1st Birthday Baby C!

One year ago, on May 14th, I gave birth to this little bundle of joy and craziness! We are so happy to have you in our lives Sweet Baby C although you do make your parents quite tired a lot of times and try our patience most of the times. Still we can’t imagine how our lives were before you were around. Oh wait, on second thought, I do remember. I could sleep a lot more and wasn’t awakened at horrendous hours that I thought (wrongly) only other people’s children woke up at such times. Oh yes, I have been wrong about a lot with you but that is part of your role on this Earth…to make sure your mother is reminded time and time again how little she actually does know. I am so blessed to be the parent of both you and your big sister and I thank God every day that I get to spend time with both of you and your father.
Happy Birthday to you! We Love You!

Chocolate toddler formula?!

So I came across the following article in the Chicago Tribune today and I couldn’t believe that there is such a thing!  I mean come on, chocolate formula?  Why?  Even if my kid was the queen of all picky children I do not think I would resort to such a thing.  Kids are going to get sweets in a lot of different forms why give them their first tastes of milk already sweetened?  Crazy.  Check out the link below and tell me what you think!

The Yes Family

Yesterday Miss M told me a dream that she had had the previous night.  Here’s our conversation:
Miss M: In my dream, we were the yes family.
Me:  What does that mean?
Miss M:  It means that every time the ice cream truck comes by, you would always say yes.
Me:  But do I always say yes to you?
Miss M:  No.  I guess we are really a No Family.  (said begrudgingly).  When I have a family, I am going to be a Yes Family.
Me:  We will see about that.

So….Are you a Yes Family or a No Family?

Accomplishments

So this past weekend, Miss M learned to ride a 2 wheel bike all by herself!  She tried it for the first time this Saturday and by Sunday she was going to the park with no problem!  I am so proud of her.  It took me a looooong time to learn to ride a bike and I had many accidents along the way.  One quite memorable and especially painful one was when I accidentally fell into the thorn bush that was in front of our church.  I was just learning to ride and was just starting to get the hang of balancing and then I fell.  Needless to say that pushed me back a bit in my desire to learn to ride.  To this day I am not one to really ride my bike that much.  I really hope M doesn’t have any bad falls like me or if she does she will have the tenacity to get back on and keep on riding.

What about Baby C, you ask?  Well, she learned to do peek a boo! all by herself!  She is fully on table food now and can literally eat us all under the table.  Not walking on her own yet but that will come.  She is a super fast crawler so that is all she needs right now.

Between M learning to ride and C learning to walk, my husband and my backs are definitely not what they used to be!

Star Light, Star Bright by Miss M

I love my baby sister. She is so cute! I love flowers. I love my sister more than a peony. She makes the sound like a quacking duck. She goes “ba ba.” She is the cutest baby in the whole world, even the universe.

I like cooking with Daddy. I also LOVE chocolate chips!
My favorite princess is Barbie and the Mermaid Tale. I also like the story of the Diamond Castle. The girls in that are called Alexa and Alana. My favorite, prettiest thing in the whole world is a heart in a middle of my hand.
My sister is good, I guess.
I love Barbie Girls dot com. You should go on the website too!
Here’s my poem:
Red and yellow
Pink and Blue
These are the colors that I love you
That’s it of our ruplay
That’s the end of our play
Hooray!
